In 1999, with only $700 in a coffee can, a small broadcast ministry, and a vision to operate a radio station, Bro. Ricky Cothren formed Gospel Broadcasting, Inc. Bro. Ricky’s life verse and Gospel Broadcasting’s verse is 1 Thessalonians 5:24, “Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.” God has done it. Today, Gospel Broadcasting owns and operates WYZD Radio in Dobson, North Carolina (1560AM & 95.3FM) and WCOK Radio in Sparta, North Carolina (1060AM & 107.3FM). The stations play good conservative gospel music and several preaching programs. In addition to operating the two radio stations, Gospel Broadcasting produces Bro. Cothren’s radio broadcasts, the Gospel Pulpit. The Gospel Pulpit can be heard on numerous stations in the southeast. One of the oldest ministries of Gospel Broadcasting is the CD of the month ministry which is called The Gospel Voice.
